  • Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an accomplished CG Supervisor with experience delivering projects using Unreal Engine. The ideal candidate will have a strong, hands-on understanding of the full pipeline of content creation in UE, as well as proven experience leading a team of fellow Tech Artists, Animators, and Developers. 

    A deep level of technical knowledge combined with strong creative and visual instincts is critical. You will be the go-to person for the implementation of complex content that requires heavy artist/designer/engineer coordination. You are a problem solver, collaborator, and communicator, and know how to adjust and prioritize throughout the creative process. You are aware of immediate and future technical and creative goals while maintaining an awareness of client expectations and show deadlines. 

    You also keep up with the latest technical tools and best practices for developing content and inspiring others through knowledge sharing. 

    Responsibilities:

    • A leader in creating cutting-edge content in Unreal. You are expected to be well-versed in Sequencer, MRQ, and Blueprints, for linear content creation in Unreal.

    • Work with technical and creative collaborators, overseeing the full content creation process from the generation of assets in DCCs, and their integration into Unreal, through to final rendering and editorial. 

    • Partner with the VFX supervisor to ensure multidisciplinary success of projects, establishing cross-department workflows and methodologies that align with client expectations and needs

    • Contribute to high-level bids, scheduling, and allocation of work. Provide recommendations regarding team resources to help manage cross-dependent work and ensure delivery in an efficient and timely manner.

    • Partner in Evil Eye's technical community, collaborating with Systems and Pipeline to ensure the technical success of the studio by taking a forward-thinking approach to tool development and workflow optimization.

    • Lead by example. Participate in recruiting, mentoring, reviews, and other HR-related department activities

    Additional Requirements:

    • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills, all with close attention to detail.

    • Experience optimizing content through profiling and diagnostic tools. 

    • Ability to interface and work with exacting clients. You will fill in as the key liaison for projects when the VFX supervisor is unavailable.

    Good to Have (Not essential to the role but would help differentiate candidates):

    • Comfortable in a range of content creation software including Photoshop, Substance Designer/Painter, Zbrush/Mudbox, etc.

    • Maya modeling and rigging experience.

    • Houdini / Embergen / Niagara FX experience.

  • Evil Eye Pictures is looking for an experienced Unreal Lighting Artist. The ideal candidate will have minimum 5 years of professional experience in film, television and/or AAA games, with at least 2 years experience working with Unreal. The candidates should thoroughly understand visual effects and/or games pipelines. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create and design lighting for complex scenes in Unreal Engine, owning both the technical and creative problem spaces

    • Work closely with directors and supervisors to develop cinematic lighting solutions, which capture the vision laid out by the client 

    • Translate 2D concepts into final lighting solutions and renders

    • Look development of assets, environments, and FX elements

    • Identify problematic shots and offer creative or technical solutions

    • Oversee and help optimize shots for rendering

    • Communicate with team members in all departments 

    Requirements:

    • Experience with Unreal Engine lighting techniques and solutions 

    • Proven track record with photoreal and full CG lighting for film, television and/or games

    • Knowledge of a variety of lighting techniques and tools in Unreal (Lumen, Raytracing, Megalights, Nanite, Materials)

    • Detail-oriented both in work processes and ability to QC work

    • Understanding of optimization and performance profiling

  • Evil Eye Pictures is looking for a skilled Technical Artist to join our team, specializing in creating high-quality, detailed visual effects and assets for in-game and cinematic content. In this role, you will push the boundaries of grounded real-time VFX, driving the dynamic nature of our content through stunning effects, and immersive environments. As a top-level individual contributor, you will focus solely on content creation, while working directly with our CG Supervisor.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Produce photorealistic, performant, real-time visuals using Unreal Engine

    • Experience creating Blueprints / Utility Widgets in Unreal Editor

    • Ensure VFX assets are optimized for performance and within memory budgets

    • Collaborate with CG Supervisor to support artistic and gameplay requirements for all content across gameplay and cinematics

    • Modeling and texturing using DCCs like Maya, Substance, Blender

A high level of technical knowledge combined with strong creative and visual instincts is critical.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work with digital scan data (reduction, retopo, etc)

    • Create stylized and realistic rigs with proper deformation and weighting

    • Create character assets including control rigs in Unreal Editor

    • Create character blend shape and character corrective shape assets

    • Author animation blueprints in Unreal Editor

    • Create range of motion assets for testing character rigs

    • Create bespoke character models

    • Collaborate closely with engineers, designing and implementing tools / workflows in Unreal Engine

    What we’re looking for:

    • 5+ years of working experience on a 5+ person team working with Unreal Engine in a professional environment

The ideal candidate will be a generalist, capable of contributing to many areas of the project. The candidate is not required to be a magical expert in all systems Unreal Engine has to offer, knows what they don’t know, and is enthusiastic to expand their expertise as necessary.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Developing realtime interaction systems, and developer tools in Unreal Engine 5

    • Collaborating with designers and artists, translating design ideas into functional code

    • Producing prototypes of ideas and features, and iterating on them

    • Troubleshooting and fixing bugs

    What we’re looking for:

    • Strong programming skills and software engineering principles

The ideal candidate has some experience with blueprinting in Unreal Engine, can create custom blueprint nodes in C++,  and is proficient in writing python scripts to automate repetitive and error-prone tasks.


    This position is an excellent opportunity to learn how a new innovative Unreal project is created from the ground up, with opportunities to collaborate with many talented senior artists, TDs, and programmers.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist artists, leads, and supervisors with rendering linear content for game cinematics from Unreal Engine

    • Flag technical hurdles that prohibit the on-time delivery of work, suggesting creative and technical fixes including performance optimization or alternative work methodologies

    • Be an early adopter of new versions of Unreal Engine; testing features, vetting stability, and making recommendations for the wider team

    • Collaborate with tech art and pipeline in the creation of processes and tools related to the rendering of Unreal content

    • Oversight and monitoring of Deadline render queue and render farm machines; collaborating with pipeline and IT to troubleshoot and debug issues 

    Requirements:
